Aberdeen and Stonehaven Yacht Club, located in the North East of Scotland is an active, friendly dinghy sailing club with a competitive racing program, family sailing and a strong junior program.
We have the unique advantage of sailing in two very different locations during the year. From March to June we sail at the Loch of Skene, near Westhill. The Loch provides an ideal location for both learning to sail and competitive racing. From June to November the club moves to Stonehaven bay with tides and waves presenting a very different challenge from the inland loch.
ASYC welcomes new members at any time of the year, whatever your sailing abilities. The club owns 24 dinghies, ranging from Optimist, Topper and RSFeva for Juniors to Laser, Blaze and Laser 2000 which are free to hire during the first year of membership (thereafter for a small charge) - so no need to own a boat before straight away. There are many other types of dinghy sailed at the club, bigger classes are laser, Solo, RS400, RS200 and Blazes.
ASYC welcomes new members - from avid racers to those new to sailing. Membership fees can be paid quarterly to spread the load and boat hire in the first year of joining is free. We are a RYA recognized training centres and offer Junior dinghy sailing courses and Powerboat driving lessons to club members. A very busy dinghy racing circuit and an active social program keep us busy. Interested? Contact commodore@asyc.org.uk

Club boats for members to hire
The club owns 24 dinghies that can be hired by club members, which are available for hire by members when there is safety cover available and the club boats are not being used for training sessions. These are free to hire during first year of membership and cost £10 for single handers and £20 for double handers per session thereafter.
